Ever since John McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, he’s made a consistent effort to keep her sheltered from the media. Sarah Palin doesn’t hold press conferences, she doesn’t take questions from reporters on the campaign plane, and she’s even refused to answer questions from voters on the rope line. This trend was highlighted most succinctly by Palin’s recent trip to the United Nations to meet with various heads of state, where numerous media outlets had to threaten to stage a coup just to get in the room.
